

I don't hear of too many problems (relatively) that are Realtek's fault. Yeah, sounds like some conflict but I don't know if you have desktop speakers or what else you've done. I wonder if you've somehow messed things up that way. Regardless, unhook any speaker outputs, then make sure you use the GREEN OUTPUT (unless colored unusually) and just use the headphones. The analog output is just a varying voltage on the wire, so there's no communication there about the headphone or speaker details. I'm pretty sure that this is a software problem and that this is because Realtek's drivers are ass.ġ) 3.5mm devices can't be detected by the system. I've even made sure that my headphones were not muted. I've not been able to replicate that since. I can confirm that this is not a hardware problem because I somehow got my headphones working yesterday, but it stopped working when I rebooted my computer. Not even the default Microsoft Audio Drivers worked. I've tried updating Realtek's drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling, and preventing Windows from reinstalling Realtek by denying all permissions for the system to read/make changes to the Realtek folder. I've checked playback devices, and I don't even see the headphones there. The speakers do shut off like they're supposed to when I have my headphones plugged in. Headphones connected through USB and Bluetooth work flawlessly Just not when I use the headphone jack. (I've even checked to make sure I was connecting to the right port) The problem now: Realtek is not detecting or playing sound through headphones connected through the 3.5mm jack.

I've been having problems with Realtek Drivers ever since I've upgraded to Windows 10 a year ago.
